Comer Industries announces the validation of its climate targets by SBTi, the leading global organization for the definition and evaluation of climate targets based on scientific evidence.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved and validated the near-term greenhouse gas emission reduction targets defined by Comer Industries, confirming their alignment with internationally recognized scientific methodologies and criteria.
Comer Industries commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 63% and absolute Scope 3 emissions by 40% by 2035 from a 2023 base year.
This achievement represents a significant milestone in the Company’s sustainability journey and confirms its commitment to integrating the management of climate issues into its corporate strategy and processes to create long-term sustainable value. Furthermore, the SBTi validation recognizes the quality of the path undertaken by the Company and its dedication to adopting rigorous international standards when defining its climate goals.
The approved targets constitute one of the pillars of the 2035 Sustainability Strategy and strengthen Comer Industries’ ability to respond to the expectations of customers, investors, institutions, and other stakeholders with concrete, measurable, and verifiable commitments.
Achieving these targets will require the contribution of the entire organization and an ongoing commitment to identifying and implementing initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of corporate activities and the value chain.
