Rivending it’s a project dedicated to the recycling of plastic cups and stirrers for vending machines.
At Comer Industries we decided to support it, adapting the services in our break areas.
After enjoying their coffee, vending machines will be asked to dispose of the cup and stirrer in a special container that will isolate the plastic material they are made from from other plastic packaging.
This container will have a specific green bag that will be collected for recycling. This virtuous cycle of collection and recycling of cups and stirrers will first of all simplify the material selection process and recover a very high quality and value plastic for the creation of new products. However, the ultimate goal of the project is to transform the used cup into a new cup, thus creating an efficient circular economy in the sector. Considering that to date there isn’t a non-plastic material that allows to contain hot drinks, this system allows at least not to generate new plastic, recycling exactly the existing one.
